Makes: 6 servings
4 cups water
1 tablespoon honey
2 vanilla beans, split
6 sticks (3 inches each) cinnamon
1/3 cup finely ground Viennese or Italian roast coffee
6 packets Pure Via® sweetener
3/4 cup 1% lowfat milk, steamed
- Combine water, honey, vanilla beans and cinnamon in a 3-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently. Stir in coffee and Pure Via sweetener; remove from heat. Let steep 5 minutes.
- Strain coffee, through fine strainer or sieve, into small mugs. Top with 2 tablespoons steamed milk per mug.
- Vanilla beans can be split open lengthwise with a small knife. This adds more flavor to the coffee. These tiny vanilla seeds can be used on top of steamed milk. (If vanilla beans are not available, use a desired amount of vanilla extract.)
